I was born in 1957 in San Diego, California to Hardy and Delia Passmore. I joined two sisters and one brother. I was six, seven, and eight years younger than my siblings. While a child at home, I was seen as cute and adorable but then came elementary school where I was picked on because of my name, my looks, and my weight. I also felt that I didn't belong at home anymore either.

So by the time I went to junior high school, I was determined to be accepted. I tried to fit in with many groups but the group that I felt most accepted was the party crowd. For the most part, I felt like I belonged.

I did a lot of partying and one day, at the age of 14, I overdosed on drugs. My life was actually saved by my father beating me so hard that the drugs got out of my system. However, this caused an even bigger problem at home and I returned to the party crowd.

During my junior year in high school, I was going nowhere fast when an older friend at school told me about Jesus Christ. A few months later, I became a believer and made a radical change from school partier to Bible study leader on campus.

After high school, I met Maggi and we were married in 1978. I went into full-time ministry in 1980 which led to jobs as a youth pastor, program director at a Christian camp, associate pastor of missions and outreach, and a senior interim pastor. Finally in 2003, I, along with my wife Maggi, became the Directors of Mexico Caravan Ministries.

Favorite Bible verse: Ephesians 3:20

I was born in central Mexico. My parents, like most parents, wanted to provide a better life for their children. They believed that moving closer to "La Frontera" would provide a better job and a better income. So they began their journey to the north in 1956 and settled in Tijuana in 1962. In 1968, my family crossed the U.S./Mexican border as immigrants to the U.S.

I trusted Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1976. In the early days of my acquaintance with the gospel, I became involved at a church where I grew in the beginning steps of faith in Jesus Christ and in the ministry of servanthood. It was there Eddie and I met and after two years we got married.

A year later, we both got involved with a 4th through 6th grade Sunday school class for a summer. That summer led us to full-time youth ministry and later adult ministry that continued for the next 22 years.

In 2000, Dave Burdette approached us for the third time regarding joining the staff of Mexico Caravan Ministries. However, Eddie's immediate response was "Thanks, but no thanks, we are in full-time ministry and things are going just fine." But not long after, we realized the Lord had a different plan for us in ministry.

Within a year, we found ourselves going through the process all missionaries have to go through. The Lord put together a team who would support us prayerfully and financially - making it possible for us to begin work as co-directors of Mexico Caravan Ministries in Tijuana. We have been with MCM since May of 2003.

Favorite Bible verse: Romans 6:14

I was an intern here at Caravan for one year in 2012 where God changed my heart and gave the beginning fuel to my passion for missions and seeing the world reached for His kingdom. Following my year at Caravan I attend university for a year at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Following my freshmen year of college I took a gap year and lived 9 months in Lesotho, Africa ministering with the shepherds in the mountains. This was a challenging time but one where God was faithful and taught me many things about myself and cross-cultural work. After my time in Lesotho, I returned to and finished my bachelor's in intercultural studies at Grace University.

While at university I met my lovely wife Cassidy and we were married in July 2017. After graduation Cassidy and I moved back to serve as the Youth Pastor at my home church in Norwalk, IA. While working at the church I completed my Masters in Pastoral Counseling from Crown College.

We moved to Tijuana in the fall of 2020 and started language learning and starting in our role as the Daily Operations Directors in January 2021.

Favorite Bible verse: Hebrews 15-16

My church growing up would go on service trips in the United States and to the Dominican Republic. It is through those opportunities that God shaped my mind and heart to give my life fully to Him. I decided to go to Grace University, previously located in Omaha, NE, where I received a double Bachelor's in Bible and Intercultural Studies, with a minor in teaching English as a Second Language. I met Spencer during my time at Grace and we got married in 2017.

After getting married we moved to Spencer’s hometown, Norwalk, IA. He worked as a youth pastor at Fellowship Community Church and I worked at the public school. We both loved serving the youth at FCC and it was a great growing experience for us both.

In 2020, Spencer and I moved to Tijuana, Mexico to fill the role of Daily Operations Director at MCM. We have a heart for discipleship and missions and are continuing to seek God in everything that we do. We are so excited to serve in Mexico with a ministry whose purpose is focused on training and equipping Christ's followers.

Favorite Bible Verse: Proverbs 17:17

I and my husband Jose live in Mariano Matamoros with our 4 children: Derian Asael, Iram Jared, Ashlye Ruhama, and Jatniel Obed. We attend Monte Horeb Church. I like to cook, cut hair, do nails and I am learning to sew. I really like working with people and doing what I can to help them. I have been with Caravan since 2006.

Our National Office Staff meet with the families, provide necessary information, help fill out the paperwork, and go through the interview process with them. When the need arises they will go to the homes to check the conditions of the site. They also schedule & coordinate the families with the groups that come down, which makes the housebuilding process a smooth operation.
